SWF 2008
The 2008 festival
ran from Monday 18th August
2008
to Friday 22nd August 2008 -
well done to all the songwriters
who participated, and thanks to
all our special guests and team
members. Here are some comments from
previous visitors. Photos, a
festival diary, and lots of the
studio recordings can be found
on the SWF

Guest tutors 2008 -
Richard Thompson,
Iain Archer, Boo Hewerdine
Songwriting
legend Richard Thompson joined
the team as a guest tutor for part of the
2008 festival. Richard presented
a masterclass/workshop about
his songwriting, joined our songwriting
panel, and stayed around to listen
to our songwriters' new work.
After
a brief visit to the 2007 festival,
Ivor Novello award-winning songwriter
and solo artist Iain Archer (Snow
Patrol) returned as a guest tutor
in 2008.
We were also pleased to welcome
a new tutor to the team. Boo Hewerdine
(the Bible. Eddi Reader, Natalie
Imbruglia etc) was on hand
throughout the week, supporting
our writers and participating in
song critiques. More on the blog...
